To help finance the gap year we decided to rent out the house and sell my car. After interviewing a number of renting companies we decided to give the task to Sherry Fitzgerald Lettings. House for Rent

When Nuala came home from work and saw the for rent sign outside the house she got a right shock. She said that it then, really hit home with her that she was going away and leaving the house.

Deciding to rent the house has been good for us as it has forced us to do a massive clear out! It’s hard to believe how much we have accumulated since moving here in 2005. We are both hoarders but it has been particularly difficult for Nuala to let go of so many things.

We have also upgraded the house as well.  It’s had a new roof, curtains, carpets and after the fire a new solid fuel stove.

We also did a massive clear out of the garage  ( large skip of rubbish removed) and the shed has had a new roof. This is work  we would never have got around to doing if we did not have a deadline and reason – looking for good tenants!!

Likewise the car has had a big clean up, taxed until April and fully serviced. We decided that there was no point in holding on to my car while we are away.

It’s gone up for sale and can be viewed on Done Deal.ie. Its a Toyota Avensis D4D reg no 04D80334. A good car but not selling fast enough, but on the other hand once it goes I be back on the push bike!!
